[Lahore], [26-Oct.2023] — Al-khidmat Foundation, a leading humanitarian organization, has taken swift action in response to the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza by dispatching the first shipment of relief goods to assist the victims. The 13 truckloads of essential supplies, including food items, medicines, delivery kits, baby kits, hygiene kits, mosquito nets, and other critical items, mark the beginning of Alkhidmat Foundation’s commitment to aiding those affected in the region.

Syed Waqas Jafri, Secretary General of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, announced the significant efforts being made to address the immediate needs of the people in Gaza. In a statement to the media, he highlighted the comprehensive relief package being sent, emphasizing the importance of quick and effective assistance.

In the face of the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Alkhidmat Foundation is taking action to alleviate the suffering of the people in the region. Our first shipment of relief goods is on its way, comprising essential items to address the immediate needs of the affected population,” stated Syed Waqas Jafri.

The relief goods, valued at 15 million rupees, are set to be delivered to the Rafah border in Egypt with the support of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The Foundation is working closely with NDMA to ensure that the relief supplies adhere to the highest standards of packing and distribution, following NDMA’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Expressing concern for the dire conditions in Gaza, Syed Waqas Jafri stated, “Gaza is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, and the need for water, food, medical aid, and hygiene is urgent. Alkhidmat Foundation is committed to providing immediate relief to the victims, and we have allocated an additional 1 billion rupees to support ongoing and future efforts.”

The Foundation’s relief activities include the provision of prepared food, dry rations, medicine, hygiene kits, and winter packages to the victims. Al-khidmat Foundation remains dedicated to ensuring that the relief goods reach the affected individuals as swiftly as possible, with the ultimate goal of saving the lives of innocent children, women, and ordinary citizens.
